You may avoid the need for delay for a visit by taking your own measurements.
All I need is the left to right measurement inside the alcove or of the shelf.
I also need the front of the shelf to the back of the shelf measurement of the shelf or alcove.
Perhaps also the thickness and perhaps finally the finish?

You could have light wood, dark wood, painted mdf or painted strong ply shelves.

The measurements could be taken using either metric or imperial.

If your really unsure, just read both measurements on the tape measure
and relay both measurements for the same length. e.g.

left to right measurement could be 1200mm or 48"(inches)

the front to back of the shelf measurement could be 305mm or 12" (inches)

If you have a base unit to be built, just give the height of the unit and
the front to back distance of the alcove and the front to back distance of the
desired unit itself.

You may wish the base unit to come out past the fire breast
you may have something that has to fit inside the base unit
in this case you can give me the inside measurement of something you'd like to fit.

I do visits, for jobs that are normally within an hour of my unit address. I wait until I have a few visits to make and then try and see everybody in one day. If you would rather not wait, then special visits can be made at certain times. For special visits I just ask for expence money of £40 which you get back off the price.

During a visit I discuss all your requirements including design strength of construction, cost implications lead times colours and finishes.

Or if you would rather take your own measurements and obtain a guide price, that's ok too. Jobs under £500.00 or enquiries about just shelves and alcove base units normally do not need a visit if you know what you want.

Customers requiring design services are charged a £80 which you will get back if we get the work and it is above £500.00.
